目的
2
Objective
2
To assess the dose⁃response relationship between caffeine intake during pregnancy and risk of miscarriage.
Methods
2
The databases of CNKI
VIP
Wanfang
PubMed
Embase
Web of Science
Cochrane
etc.
were searched systematically. Two researchers conducted literature screening
literature quality evaluation
and data extraction independently. Binary and subgroup meta⁃analysis and dose⁃response analysis were performed.
Results
2
A total of 24 literatures were included
including 13 case⁃control studies and 11 cohort studies. Results of the binary meta⁃analysis showed that caffeine consumption during pregnancy was associated with a 39% higher risk of miscarriage than non⁃caffeine consumption
as risk ratio (
RR
)=1.39 (95%
CI
: 1.29⁃1.49). Meta⁃analysis after grouping showed that the risk increased by 19% (95%
CI
: 1.09⁃1.31) in the low⁃dose group
48% (95%
CI
: 1.24⁃1.77) in the medium⁃dose group
51% (95%
CI
: 1.30⁃1.76) in the high⁃dose group
and 61% (95%
CI
: 1.29⁃1.99) in the very high dose group
respectively
as compared with that of non⁃caffeine consumption group. The dose⁃response curve suggested that for every 100 mg·d⁻¹ increase in caffeine intake
the risk of miscarriage increases by 10%.
Conclusion
2
The risk of miscarriage increased linearly with increasing caffeine intake during pregnancy.
