目的
2
OR
=1.147,95%
CI
Objective
2
To investigate the association between long⁃term air pollution
particularly particulate matter (PM
2.5
) and its components
and cardiometabolic multimorbidity (CMM).
Methods
2
We utilized population data from the China health and retirement longitudinal study (CHARLS)
including 15 632 individuals aged 45 years and above. Meteorological data
obtained from the tracking air pollution in China (TAP) system
provided information on PM
2.5
and its chemical composition. Binary logistic regression analysis was conducted to explore the relationship between PM
2.5
and its chemical components and CMM.
Results
2
The study revealed that 12.5% of the population had CMM. Long⁃term exposure to PM
2.5
and its components showed a significant positive association with CMM prevalence. Among the components
black carbon demonstrated the highest risk of CMM over a 3⁃year period (
OR
=1.147;95%
CI
: 1.083⁃1.214). Additionally
females and older individuals were more vulnerable to the risk of air pollution.
Conclusion
2
These findings emphasize the importance of addressing air pollution as a key factor in CMM prevention and management
particularly among susceptible populations. Measures targeting the reduction of air pollution should be implemented to mitigate the adverse impacts and ultimately improve public health outcomes.
