Effects of a microecological preparation on the production performance of lactating sows
The effects of a microecological preparation containing lactic acid bacteria
Bacillus subtilis
Saccharomyces cerevisiae
and other strains on the reproduction performance and estrous performance of lactating sows were studied to provide a theoretical basis for increasing the economic benefits of large-scale pig farms.
Methods
2
2 160 lactating sows with similar age and parity (mainly 3-6 fetuses
age 2-4 years
weight 200-260 kg)
good health status
and similar expected date of childbirth from a large-scale pig farm were divided into the experimental group fed with the daily diet of lactating sows supplemented with a microbial ecological preparation and the control group fed with conventional feed for lactating sow. The experimental period was from August
2025. The reproduction performance of sows
indexes related with the growth of piglets
the postpartum estrus and production efficiency of sows were recorded and analyzed throughout the entire process of experiment.
Results
2
The mortality rate of piglets in the farrowing house in the experimental group (8.03%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (10.14%). The average body weight of piglets and the survival rate at 22 days of age in the experimental group was 5.84 kg and 94.64%
higher than that in the control group (5.58 kg and 93.11%). The estrus rate of multiparous sows and primiparous sows at 7 days after weaning in the experimental group was 77.2% and 87.23%
higher than that in the control group (76.88% and 71.33%)
with a significant improvement observed in the estrus rate of primiparous sows particularly. The WSI (Weaning to Service Interval) in the experimental group was 2.77
significantly lower than that in the control group (9.7).
Conclusions
2
Adding a microecological preparation to the daily diet of lactating sows can effectively reduce the mortality rate of piglets
